The Short Courses Division was established in January 2007 with the aim of co-ordinating, standardising and supporting the short course processes on behalf of the institution. The presentation of short courses is a teaching activity that takes place in the name of the University and needs to comply with the quality assurance requirements of the University and the relevant government and regulatory institutions
The Challenge
The Short Courses Division of Stellenbosch University is a division that is aimed at coordinating, supporting, and standardising the short course processes of the main institution. It helps to develop policies and procedures that improve the management of the short courses. They approached NetMechanic in need of a website design and rebuild.
We were asked to rebuild the entire website using our own custom CMS system. This allowed the Short Courses Division staff to manage content with ease and efficiency. We also implemented search engine optimisation strategies on the website.
The Solution
Custom CMS, UX Research, UX Design, Custom Template developed for desktop and mobile devices, Multilingual Functionality using our powerful multilingual component, English and Afrikaans content population, Custom content types
Custom API in order to pull course information from a custom course management platform, Google Analytics, Sitemap Submissions, We have reached the first page and position ranking for the keyword “short courses stellenbosch”.Â
